Electric milestone at De Haan

10th June 2026

De Haan Relocation has introduced its first fully electric moving truck.

The new electric DAF XD vehicle replaces an existing diesel-powered truck and will mainly operate within the Netherlands’ zero-emission zones. The investment is part of De Haan’s long-term strategy to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and prepare its fleet for increasing sustainability requirements.

CEO Madeline van der Rhee said: ‘We continue to analyse, reduce and optimise our operations to make every move cleaner, quieter and more energy-efficient where possible. This investment represents another important step towards our goal of operating our national moving activities entirely with electric moving vehicles by 2035.’

The company operates multiple moving trucks across Europe and runs regular services between the Netherlands and destinations throughout the continent.
