AGS Global Solutions has reported serious disruption at Haiti’s Port international du Cap-Haitien, with customs inspections at Cap-Haitien running up to two months behind schedule.
The company’s CEO, Albin Porquez, said the port’s limited infrastructure is struggling to handle the unusually large volumes of incoming containers.
‘Affected shipments are experiencing significant delays and quickly accruing additional costs, as storage and demurrage fees accumulate,’ he said. ‘We recommend that, before booking any shipments, you reach out to the AGS Haiti team.’
The company said that routing via Port-au-Prince is currently faster and more cost effective – and that its local team could advise for which shipments this was a viable option.
