Venezuelan logistics still moving after President’s removal

7th January 2026

Moving and logistics operations in Venezuela continue to function despite heightened political tensions since the capture by the US military of the country’s President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

Iramar Aleman, Executive Director of Caracas-based Affiliate JJ Mari, told FIDI Focus that all its staff and their families were safe, and its facilities were still fully operational.

As a precautionary measure, she said all office-based staff are now working from home, with only directors remaining at the company’s headquarters to coordinate critical parts of the business.

Aleman said the company has received official confirmation that the Port of La Guaira and Caracas Airport (CCS) are continuing normal operations, with its customs team working to minimise any potential delays.

‘We remain fully active and attentive,’ said Aleman. ‘We will continue to monitor the evolution of events and will issue regular communiqués to inform you of any significant changes in operating conditions.’

Zenaida Romero, General Manager of Mudanzas Internacionales Global, said: ‘Although it is too early to fully assess the impact of the situation in Venezuela, we can confirm that both the port and the airport are operating normally.’ She added that the company was handling delays to vessels and that some airlines were currently not flying to the country.

‘We are monitoring developments with great caution while continuing our work as planned,’ she said. ‘We will keep you informed of any changes that could impact operations.’
