Carlos Ferri, CEO and founder of Shipeezi and Moveezi, has released a white paper on the change ahead for the international moving and mobility industry in the next five years
The Moving Industry – the way I see it, looks at five key areas: the growing requirement for real-time visibility of shipments; trust and compliance; the difference between AI-native and AI added to legacy platforms; the demands of military and government mobility; and the move from individual transactions towards longer-term customer relationships. It uses sources including publicly available data, industry association research and Moveezi’s own experience in more than 35 countries.
In the paper, Ferri says three developments have challenged the industry’s traditional model: consolidation among major mobility businesses; the collapse of the US military’s US$17.9bn Global Household Goods contract in June 2025; and the emergence of AI-native workflows in live operations.
Ferri says that real-time information shared between the multiple parties involved in a move is becoming a basic requirement rather than a differentiator and means companies are increasingly expected to be working to standards such as FAIM 3.4, CMMC, ISO 27001 and ESG.
The white paper also examines the transition from transactional models towards longer-term relationships, arguing that companies that are involved throughout an assignee’s life-cycle – from survey and transit through to delivery, settling-in, repatriation and future assignments – can build value and reduce the need to always compete on price.
‘The reset is real. The companies that act on architecture: visibility, trust, AI-native design and genuine relationships, will own the next chapter,’ said Ferri.
