OB I T UA RY William Bronte-Tinkew T rinidad-based FIDI Affiliate AJ Mauritzen & Co Ltd has announced the death of its Managing Director, William Bronte-Tinkew, at the age of 92. It is with a heavy heart that we advise our FIDI family of the passing of our Managing Director, Mr William BronteTinkew, the company said in a statement. Mr Bronte passed away peacefully... at the age of 92 at home with his beloved wife, Sintra. Bronte-Tinkew worked as a teacher from 1944 during World War II until 1964, when he purchased a moving business and a new warehouse facility to service the growing market of expats who came to the island, often working for them again when they left. In a 2014 interview with Spanish publication The Report Company, he said his teaching background gave him a different approach to management. Sometimes, you get guys come in here that dont know their ABC, but it doesnt take long to teach a guy to spell his name, to write, to add and subtract, so I dont refuse a guy because he cannot read and write. I give him the opportunity. The teaching never leaves you, he said. He was a hard-working networker and led the companys preparation to join FIDI. We are members of all the top organisations in our field and we try to attend all their meetings and conventions. As a result, we are known throughout William Bronte-Tinkew the world and we have people in every country, he said in 2014. People wonder how I get the business. Its because I ensure that I attend the meetings wherever they are. The last one was in Vancouver; I was there. The next one is in Greece; Ill be there.
