IN D U ST RY N EW S Fink sets scene for international theatre event Fink Mobility was again selected to support Brazils contribution to the Prague Quadrennial 2023, the worlds largest showcase of theatrical scenography. The two-week event takes place every four years in Prague, the Czech Republic, where artists, designers, and professionals celebrate and explore innovations and trends in scenic design. There is a competitive exhibition, installations, lectures, debates, workshops, and presentations. Brazil has had a long-standing connection with the Prague Quadrennials since its inception in 1967, with Czech scenographers Vichodyl and Svoboda winning several prizes in the Biennial of Theatrical Plastic Arts in Brazil. The country has had a nearconstant presence at the event, with Brazilian representatives winning the highest award, the Golden Triga, in 1995 and 2011. Transworld venture to shake up Indian moving Transworld International founders Rijish AV and Prakash K have teamed up with former CEO of Interem Relocations Rahul Pillai to launch a new online-only digital service that they believe will revolutionise the moving market in India. Hybrid Shifting Solutions India Pvt Ltd will be based on a robust technology platform, with the aim of enhancing the network and infrastructure and expanding services. It will have a presence in 100 Indian cities in the coming year, creating what would be Indias largest moving network. Transworld said its partners will now have the additional advantage of an expanded service and contemporary digital technologies to bring transparency and convenience to the forefront of the customer experience. Transworld has made an initial investment of US$2.5m to the project, with an additional US$10m committed in cash and infrastructure. The Brazilian government offers financial and logistics support to Brazilian contributors to the event, including the transportation of sceneries, costumes, and necessary materials for exhibitions and performances. Renata Vinhas, General Manager of the Fink division of fine arts, fairs, and events, said: Its a great joy to be able to participate in this very important event for scenic arts, to which Fink has, for decades, dedicated all its expertise in the logistics for this special and unique cargo, so they can be appreciated by thousands of people every four years. This year, Fink created bespoke boxes for the transportation of more delicate pieces, and lift vans for structural pieces such as the scenography-inspired roof structure for the student exhibition. Major Economic Challenges Facing Latin America in 2023 found that the regions economies are proving highly vulnerable to global economic trends and identified six major challenges for the year ahead: socio-economic inequality; political instability; climate change; inflation; job recovery; and slow economic growth. However, the LARM report concluded that the outlook was not hopeless. Despite the global slowdown, there are indications that the region is capable of resilience and can avoid the worst impacts. Miguel Florez, of Aviomar, Colombia, and Pauline Collins, of Voerman, the Netherlands, have joined the team as trainers, with specific responsibility for the Academys EiM courses. They join Aulina Mithal Sood, Star Worldwide, India; Angelo Lepore, Armstrong International Movers, Canada; Robert Cormier, PTS-Moves, USA; Julieta Vangeli, from Santa Fe Relocation, Spain; and Alvin Ong of Vanpac Group, Singapore, who were announced as new trainers earlier this year.
