Ireland sees new US investment Moving firms in Ireland should benefit from increasing US investment in areas outside of Dublin, according to the Irish Examiner. The newspaper said 89 of 127 investments in regional parts of the country last year came from US sources, with 469 US companies employing 116,952 people in these areas. Among the forthcoming investments are: Abbott, investing in a new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny and expanding in Donegal; NetApp, which is opening a new international head office in Cork; and Lilly, which is constructing a manufacturing facility in Limerick. Meanwhile, US people have become the largest buyers of first homes and holiday homes in Spain, with moving companies reporting growth in imports for this reason. A report in The Wall Street Journal said Spanish home sales to US buyers increased by 76 per cent in the first half of 2022. Netmove marks its 27th year Brazilian mover Netmove has celebrated its 27th birthday. The company was started by Arnaldo Petarnela as a one-man show and has grown in size to work for some of Brazils largest businesses. Petarnela said: For developing countries, it has become really hard to book moves locally, as most of the moves worldwide are booked either in the USA or Europe through major RMCs, he said. As a result, it is really important to focus on quality and communication so we are able to provide high-quality services in Brazil, helping the bookers to increase their worldwide scores at the RMCs. Consequently, we are able to work in partnership with many agents who use our services and are able to get more business from RMCs as their scores are above average. 16 Advanced Removals & Storage joins Doree Bonner Doree Bonner International Group has announced that Advanced Removals & Storage has joined the group. The addition of the Gloucesterbased family business strengthens Doree Bonners coverage in the south-west of the UK, while opening up new areas in the southern part of the West Midlands. Its local operational and sales function will operate separately, but benefit from Doree Bonners central functions including IT, HR, finance and marketing and its existing nationwide coverage. All existing staff will be retained, and the logo and corporate colours of Advanced Removals will remain the same. Dasa makes management change Dubai-based Dasa International Movers has announced the appointment of Craig Reilly as its new CEO. According to a statement, Reilly will focus on developing the companys portfolio of services and relocation packages to cater for ever changing needs of the market. This will involve investment in new software and technology that aims to streamline the companys operations, but also provides a higher premium experience for clients.
