OB I T UA RI E S SABINE HARTMANN F IDI Germany announced that Sabine Hartmann, MD of Hartmann International GmbH & Co. KG, died after a short illness. Sabine served as a long-standing President of GIM and FIDI-Germany, having served on the board for 25 years and also as President from 2001 to 2016. She campaigned for the further development of the associations and brought in new ideas and was highly regarded by her national and international colleagues for her competence. Sabine will be remembered as a respected and valued personality who left us far too soon. FIDI Secretary General Jesse van Sas said: The passing of Sabine comes as a huge shock to all of us at the FIDI family. She was very involved in FIDIs working, for many years already. Not only as the FIDI Germany representative in past years, actively contributing to FIDIs governance meetings, or as a keen participant in the FIDI ladies golf tournaments, but certainly also as former chair of the FIDI Board Nomination Committee. Though Sabine often came across as tough in her business approach, she was always fair and transparent in her intentions. We had many profound discussions on the future of FIDI, and I very much appreciated her frankness and direct approach. Behind that toughness was a woman with a very warm heart, and with passion for our business. We will miss her dearly, and on behalf of FIDI Board and staff, we convey our most sincere condolences to her husband, family and colleagues at Hartmann International GmbH & Co. KG.
