m FIDI ASS O C I ATI O N S WELCOME TO NEW REGIONAL HEADS FIDI Focus meets the incoming presidents of two of its regional associations FIDI Focus: What is your role as President of Association of Direct Affiliates (ADA) Europe? Teodoru Cristea: To be the interface between the main FIDI office and FIDI ADA Europe members and ensure that the voice of both parties is heard. To ensure ideas, opinions, complaints are heard, shared, analysed, and communicated. FF: What are the challenges you face as the President of this area? TC: The main challenge, and at the same time the beauty, is the size of ADA, which covers a vast geographical area. We have to involve all members across this area, making them more active and more present in the organisation. FF: What is the moving market like in your region at present? TC: As we speak, the business has returned to postpandemic levels and we are enjoying the craziness of a very busy season. FF: What are the most important issues? TC: We want to make our Affiliates express their WW W. F I D I. O R G FF307 September-November 22 pp64-67_FIDIAssociations.indd 65 opinions more often so we can understand them better. I am currently working on this. FF: What do you hope to achieve during your time as President? TC: We have already received confirmation of the intention of ADA members to host a FIDI Conference in one of ADAs member countries. I will also strive to make the members of this community more involved. FF: Why is your Association important to its members? TEODORU CRISTEA, PRESIDENT OF ADA EUROPE TC: Im not sure the members realise how important the FIDI Associations are or might be to them. I will do my best to create this awareness. FF: If you had one message for the FIDI world, what would it be? TC: To understand and never forget the value of the services we are providing. What we do is not easy and what we consider to be fun, many others consider to be crazy or impossible to deliver. Be proud of our industry and be proud that you are a mover.
