NFB International Relocations AS has won the tender for the domestic relocation services of elected representatives of the Norwegian Parliament, which it said would strengthen its presence across the country. The parliament consists of 169 representatives from 19 electoral districts, with elections held once every four years. Meanwhile, Antwerpheadquartered Gosselin has won a four-year deal to carry out all international moves for the Belgian government personnel in the Federal Public Services Foreign Affairs, Finance, Justice, Police, Defense and Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue departments. Marc Smet, CEO of the group, said: This is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in the field of international moving to our fellow countrymen. We have always had a great understanding of diplomatic moves and it has always been our ambition to work for the Belgian government. AMSA and ATA to join forces and create new body The Board of Directors of the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA) has agreed the organisation can begin the process of joining the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and form a new body, called the Moving & Storage Conference. The new organisation will serve as an advocacy arm to highlight moving and storage priorities, while the Moving & Storage Council will also be created as the training, certification and leadership arm. AMSA Board of Directors Chairman Bill Paxton said: The move to join the ATA federation will benefit AMSAs small and independent members as well as the large van lines. Both ATA and AMSA have been strong advocates of highway safety along with representing their members before Congress and regulatory agencies. Our combined efforts will certainly strengthen our reach and impact. Chris Spear, President and ATA CEO, said: Welcoming this new group of key members into the federation will significantly increase our ability to reach decision makers at both the federal and state level. We look forward to bringing our mutual interests together for the collective good of our industry and membership. AMSA represents more than 3,000 members in the US moving and storage industry. ATA is the largest national trade association for the US trucking industry with 50 affiliated state trucking associations and more than 37,000 members. SIRVA AND REALOGY RESOLVE CARTUS DISPUTE SIRVA and Realogy have settled the dispute over the previously agreed sale of Cartus Relocation. Cartuss parent company Realogy Holdings Corp had sought to force the sale of the company, after SIRVA decided not to go ahead with the purchase. However, after the Delaware Chancery Court rejected this at the beginning of August, the two parties reached a settlement the details of which had not been disclosed at the time of going to print.
