FIDI NEWS NEW DSP CERTIFICATION MAKES STRIDES The first FIDI Destination Service Provider onsite seminar is in development and promises to become the EiM of DSP services. Jesse van Sas, Secretary General of FIDI Global Alliance, explains I JESSE VAN SAS, SECRETARY GENERAL OF FIDI GLOBAL ALLIANCE WW W. F I D I. O R G FF290 pp32-33 DSP Teaser.indd 33 n 2016, our membership survey showed a clear trend of Affiliates widening their portfolio of activities, with more than 60 per cent offering or planning to offer Destination Service Provider (DSP) services. We have taken note of this and, at this precise moment, the FAIM Coordination Centre (FCC) is busy ironing out the last details of a new FIDI DSP quality certification. This certification will only be available to FAIM certified companies and will be based on the same methodology and thoroughness of the FAIM audit. Thefirst companiesshould go through the DSP audit bythe endofthis year. To support this new certification programme and ensure the consistently high quality we have become accustomed to with the FAIM Standard, the FIDI Academy will further extend its DSP offering, with our volunteer trainers hard at work to develop the first DSP onsite seminar. This will become the EiM of DSP services, in which participants can dive deep into the technicalities and operational specifics of DSP. The seminar will look at DSP from all angles and ensure that attendees get a helicopter view of the business. At the same time, they will learn from each other on how DSP is handled across the world. Through practical case studies, field visits and meeting local experts, the DSP seminar will guide attendees in a solid understanding of the various services, cost calculations and bundling of services and fees, as well as attitude and etiquette, thus adding to their global competence. With a majority of our Affiliates now offering DSP in their local markets, FIDI has taken the initiative to extendits portfolio by including DSP not only in our quality certification, but also in our training. The latter isan essential part in any compliance process; with proper training highlighting not only the operational aspects of the business, but also the increasing compliance requirements employees become productive and efficient, adding to the overall profitabilityof the business. If you want to learn more about the DSP seminar and are registered to attend the FIDI Conference in Amsterdam, dont miss out on the FIDI Academy DSP workshop on 2 April, or send an email to academy@fidi.org 33 13/03/2019 12:45
